THE SINGER’S DOCTORS HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO HALT THE PROGRESSION OF HER RARE NEUROLOGICAL DISORDER

The stars of the new rom-com Love Again celebrated its New York premiere on May 3. Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas wore a fabulous light blue gown to the event and greeted her costar Sam Heughan with a sweet kiss as the assembled press jostled about to snap photos. Noticeably missing from the red carpet was Celine Dion, who makes her big-screen acting debut in the film and wrote five songs for its soundtrack.

Celine hoped to be well enough to attend the premiere, but it was simply not possible. “She is having difficulty walking and experiences periods of intense pain, which sometimes come out of nowhere,” explains a close friend.

Late last year, Celine, 55, revealed that she had been diagnosed with a rare neurological condition called Stiff-Person Syndrome. “We now know this is what’s been causing all of the spasms that I’ve been having,” she shared, explaining that the disorder affects only one in a million people. “Unfortunately, the spasms affect every aspect of my daily life.”
