Globalstar, Qualcomm to jointly work on 5G private networks

Globalstar has announced signing a strategic agreement with Qualcomm Technologies enabling the two companies to collaborate on 5G private network technologies.

The agreement involves Qualcomm's FSM 5G RAN platforms for small cells and Snapdragon modem, the RF systems that will utilise the Band n53 of Globalstar terrestrial spectrum around the world. Globalstar is a satellite communications company that provides mobile voice and data communication services through a constellation of LowEarth Orbit or LEO satellites.
