What I Make Out of This Year's Union Budget

It covers the whole gamut of economic planning and aims at making India a Viksit Bharat of citizens with higher disposable income and purchasing power by 2047

To me, Union Budget 202425 presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is an exercise in excellence. More than presenting the annual accounts of the nation, the document provides a vision that will take India closer to the dream of becoming a developed nation by 2047. By treading a less travelled path by clearly stating short, medium and long-term visions for India, the Budget got the ball rolling to make India the third largest economy by the target year. However, to achieve this cherished goal, the country has to get its act together quickly by taking all stakeholders on board without fail. For this, the animal spirit of the private sector should be unleashed with the state providing the necessary ambiance by investing in infrastructure, health and education.
