ENGINEERING INDIA'S GREEN HYDROGEN FUTURE
November 2025
|The Machinist
Through global partnerships and local engineering, BGR Tech is shaping India's transition toward clean, scalable, and sustainable hydrogen energy solutions.
As the world races toward cleaner energy systems, India's green hydrogen journey is gathering momentum. Among the companies at the forefront is BGR Tech, which has been steadily evolving from an engineering services provider into a system integrator and innovator in the clean energy space. Its latest partnerships with Stargate Hydrogen, Elchemtech, and Chemie-Tech DMCC reflect a growing emphasis on collaboration, localisation, and technology-driven sustainability.
At the heart of this initiative lies the ambition to make electrolyzers—the engines of green hydrogen production—accessible, efficient, and scalable. While the broader green hydrogen system will be manufactured in India, the electrolyzer itself remains the most critical and precision-intensive component. Initially, BGR Tech anticipates importing the modules, but localisation is clearly part of the long-term vision.
“As India’s hydrogen market matures and demand scales up, assembling and manufacturing electrolyzers domestically will not just be feasible—it will be the smart choice,” explains Parthiban Selvaraj, Head of Business Development (Oil & Gas Processing and Hydrogen Generation) at BGR Tech. “It will help reduce logistics costs, enable faster deployment, and strengthen India’s energy independence.”
What sets BGR Tech’s approach apart is its focus on integration rather than standalone supply. The electrolyzer is only one part of a larger ecosystem comprising ultrapure water treatment, gas separation, and purification systems. Each of these subsystems is engineered to work in perfect sync, ensuring consistent hydrogen purity and operational safety. The result is not a piece of equipment, but a complete, interlinked green hydrogen production platform that’s adaptable to multiple scales and applications.
