Expertise Company CEO Mohammed Ashif reflects on leadership, workforce development and how India fits into his long-term industrial vision.
-
Mohammed Ashif's journey from a coastal village in Karnataka to leading an industrial enterprise in Saudi Arabia is shaped as much by values as by business ambition. Born in Karnire village in Dakshina Kannada, Ashif grew up in coastal Karnataka where cultures, languages and communities naturally intersect. That environment exposed him early to diverse perspectives, something he believes later helped him navigate the multicultural realities of global industry.
His education at NITTE Mangalore further strengthened a belief already instilled during his childhood: that education can transform lives and create opportunity. That conviction continues to influence both his leadership style and his approach to business.
Today, as CEO of Expertise Company, Ashif oversees an industrial services organization operating in some of the most demanding sectors in Saudi Arabia, including oil and gas, petrochemicals, steel, power generation, infrastructure and manufacturing services.
The company itself began with a simple but ambitious idea.
In 2008, Ashif founded Expertise Company with the goal of delivering reliable industrial services in sectors where operational precision is critical. Over the years, the business has evolved into a diversified enterprise serving large industrial clients across the region.
From the beginning, Ashif focused on two principles he considers nonnegotiable: safety and operational excellence.
"In industries where risks are high and margins for error are extremely small, trust is built through consistency," he says. "Clients want reliability and disciplined execution."
Operating in Saudi Arabia's industrial ecosystem, however, required a shift in perspective. Early in his career, Ashif believed that speed and scale would be the main drivers of growth. Experience in the region quickly corrected that assumption.
