Healthcare M&A Deals Driving Growth Across MENA in 2025

Healthcare M&A in the Middle East remained steady in H1 2025, with 20 deals, compared to 19 in the same period last year, according to PwC's 2025 TransAct Middle East Mid-Year Update. Here are some notable deals secured in 2025, so far.

• PureHealth acquired 60% stake of HHG

In October 2025, ADX-listed PureHealth Group, one of the largest healthcare groups in the Middle East, completed the acquisition of a 60% stake in Hellenic Healthcare Group (HHG), a private healthcare provider in Greece and Cyprus.

The $933 million transaction valued HHG at $1.5 billion. HHG was previously owned 90% by CVC Capital Partners and 10% by CEO Dimitris Spyridis. Following completion, PureHealth now holds 60% of the company, while CVC Capital Partners retains 35% and Dimitris Spyridis 5%. The acquisition brings HHG’s 11 hospitals and 23 diagnostic centres to PureHealth’s network.
