• XPANCEO

XPANCEO specializes in developing multifunctional smart contact lenses with integrated health monitoring and optical technologies. In July 2025, the Dubai-based startup raised $250 million in Series A funding at a $1.35 billion valuation, in a round led by Opportunity Venture (Asia) which had also led its earlier $40 million seed round. The company claimed that the new round made it the U.A.E.'s 12th unicorn. Beyond AR, its lenses track intraocular pressure for glaucoma, analyze tear fluid biochemistry, and offer night vision, zoom, and color-correction, with applications across healthcare, industrial, defense, and consumer sectors. In September 2025, XPANCEO and INTRA-KER, an Italian medtech startup, unveiled a proof-of-concept intracorneal implant designed to restore vision in patients with corneal blindness.
