Study: small cuts to beef production could eliminate years of emissions

In a paper published in early November, scientists reveal that pasturelands, in particular those that were once forests, hold great potential for mitigating the effects of climate change.
-
They added that by removing livestock from these areas, the ecosystems can return to their natural forested state, boosting carbon capture in trees and soil.
Agriculture Dive reported that the authors of the paper identified "high- and uppermiddle-income countries" as prime candidates for reducing beef production.
