New Isuzu engine slashes fuel costs

Isuzu's 1.9 Ddi D-MAX range is clearly aimed at lowering drivers' fuel costs, and it does so while delivering solid performance and reliability.

The Isuzu D-MAX has earned a reputation for outstanding fuel economy, low running costs, solid performance, reliability and durability.

To further enhance the product line-up, Isuzu has introduced the latest-generation 1,9-litre four-cylinder intercooled turbodiesel engine, which represents a significant leap forward in fuel efficiency.

To prove the fuel-sipping habits of the 1.9 Ddi engine, Grant McCleery, renowned racing driver and head of the Isuzu Driving Academy, recently conducted a 1 431km fuel economy test run from Johannesburg to Cape Town.

OUTSTANDING FUEL ECONOMY

Driving a D-MAX 1.9 Ddi Double Cab 4x2 Manual, he recorded a realistic, realworld average speed of 100km/h, and the 1.9 Ddi used a mere 73,820. This translates to a remarkable 5,1l/100km, or 19,39km/l!
