The app, called Kogelberg Coastal Area Reporting and Engagement (C.A.R.E), is intended to promote more effective mobilisation of authorities. According to WWF-SA, the data collected will be used to produce "heat maps" of where and when incidents could occur to assist authorities in improving their resource planning.
