Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly becoming the cornerstone of technological advancement and business transformation, leaders like Nidhi Srivastava are at the forefront, steering the strategic direction and innovative capabilities of major enterprises. As the Head of AI and Cloud Offerings at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Srivastava has witnessed and contributed to the evolution of technology over her 30-year career. From her early days as a developer to her current role in managing Google Cloud and AI practices, her journey reflects a blend of creativity, risktaking, and a deep commitment to the TCS value system. In this exclusive interview, Srivastava shares insights into the burgeoning AI landscape, the integration of cloud practices, and the transformative potential of AI in diverse business areas.
What is it like to be where you are now?
I have been here for over 30 years now - traversing various roles like developer-to-client relationship to consulting to Cloud to now AI. To head the Google Cloud has been a very exciting and creative role. Overall I have got a tremendous degree of empowerment and support. I have taken a lot of risk-taking lessons from our leaders. The portability of the TCS value system is quite interestingespecially when you move from one business unit to another and to completely new teams. Along with all the risk and anxiety, what I picked was the lesson that our value system transcends all business areas. That's why I encourage people to not be complacent, to be bold, and to move to new challenges.
Tell us about the Gen AI practice- impact on clients and growth paths?
