The Urban and Casualwear Revolution is redefining the global fashion landscape for 2026 and 2027. Demand is shifting towards versatility, comfort and emotional longevity, impacting product design, retail strategy and consumer expectations.

Urban and casualwear are converging as consumers look for pieces that transition across work, leisure and social settings. Relaxed silhouettes, modular layering and a balance of utility and playfulness are becoming core. This shift is driven by hybrid lifestyles, economic uncertainty and a growing focus on sustainability and longevity.

The New Consumer: Adaptive, Emotional, Value-Driven

Consumer expectations are evolving towards adaptability, comfort and emotional value. Hybrid lifestyles continue to influence how consumers dress, with increasing demand for relaxed tailoring, elasticated waists and flexible fits. Interest in office outfits and business casual dressing reflects the need for professional yet comfortable solutions.

Emotional value is shaping purchase decisions. Consumers are seeking mood-boosting products that support wellbeing, driving demand for expressive colour, tactile materials and playful design. At the same time, nostalgia and authenticity are gaining traction, with retro-inspired styles such as New Prep, SportCore and Workwear resonating.

Interest in vintage and upcycled products is increasing, reflecting engagement with circular models. Value remains central. Consumers are prioritising longevity, versatility and cost per wear, reinforcing the need for products that deliver across multiple use cases.
