While the Bruiser 4x4 Expander can stand its ground when things get rough, this strongman isn't brawn only – there's plenty of brain too.
The Bruiser 4x4 might be a formidable name in the off-road caravan industry, but the man behind the wheel, Brandon Hardie, is hardly.
In fact, Brandon is known for his UniPod off-road caravans. According to Brandon, the Bruiser 4x4 is the luxury division in the range that boasts serious off-road capabilities.
You don't often see caravans in dark colours, and black especially is unusual. With its contrasting red badges, the Bruiser 4x4 definitely catches the eye. The exterior has a tough, scratch-resistant Raptor-finish, but should you get a few scratches or stone chips, it can be easily repaired.
Moreover, the Expander is custom-made for each client's needs and tastes. The outside kitchen's layout can be changed, and inside there are multiple finishing choices, from wall colours to flooring.
Pitching perfect
Once the corner steadies are secured on the ground, you have to set up the bed before you can climb in to lift the roof. The bed slides out as a single unit - almost like a capsule - on the right, creating space inside so you can reach the struts that lift the roof. Remember to first unclip the four clips outside. Now, it's time for the awning: this one is 270° and has six arms.
It swings out over the kitchen and bed unit, after which it's tightened with straps, secured to the outer arms and tightened through the metal eyelets at the front and back of the caravan.
A pole at each arm supports the roof, and when it's time to pack up, simply store it inside the arms. At its widest, the awning is a decent 2,5 m.
