It's been a long time coming, but KTM has finally unveiled the bike we've been shouting for... the KTM 990 RC R.

Built around KTM's punchy 947 cc LC8c paralleltwin, the 990 RC R pumps out a claimed 130bhp at 9500rpm and 103 Nm at 6750rpm, all while meeting the latest Euro 5+ regulations. The engine shares DNA with the 990 Duke, but with revised mapping, a new integrated airbox, and a shorter, more centralised exhaust system that helps sharpen both throttle response and handling The chassis is all-new too - a tubular steel frame paired with a die-cast aluminium subframe that doubles as part of the air-intake system. KTM's engineers have chased that sweet spot between rigidity and flex, landing on a 52.5/47.5 front-to-rear weight bias and a geometry that feels both planted and agile. Fully adjustable WP APEX suspension is found at both ends, with 48mm open-cartridge forks and a gas-assisted shock joining the mix. Brembo's latest HyPure calipers clamp twin 320mm discs up front
