Jumping through hoops

There was a push in the 1970s to "do it once, do it well. Build a better Australia." Somebody must have stopped pushing.

Why, in this day and age of information technology, is it so hard to have your information updated? After four visits to the bank to "ID" myself (a request from the bank to make sure I wasn't a money launderer) I finally had satisfaction that the job had been done.

The promise that it would take "less than three minutes" turned into a four hour-ordeal.

Unfortunately, unless I was happy for them to suspend my account, I had to jump through their hoops.

There was no apology for their inability to complete the job as promised and my only course of retribution is to go to another bank and receive the same cursory "service".

I'm pretty sure no employee lost any pay over the matter.

As owner operators in the construction Industry, the ability to complete a job as promised is paramount.

That is what keeps up employed. Without delivering what we promise we don't get paid and we'll do our darndest for that.
