Max Verstappen has properly thrust himself into the title hunt by his ominously dominant weekend at the 2025 Formula One United States Grand Prix

FOR MUCH OF THE 2025 FORMULA ONE season, especially after the summer break, it looked like reigning four-time world champion, Max Verstappen (Oracle Red Bull Racing) was well and truly out of the running, trailing championship leader, Oscar Piastri (McLaren) by over a hundred points. Sure, he took back-to-back wins in Monza and Baku, with a strong second-place finish at Singapore, but he still seemed to be a distant outsider in the title fight. That all changed at the 2025 United States Grand Prix in dramatic fashion. Starting with sprint qualifying, Verstappen qualified ahead of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, with Nico Hulkenberg (Kick Sauber) lining up an impressive fourth on the grid.
