Upon doing some in-depth research, I found reference to the Mk 10 was entirely omitted on some archival websites. Worse than that was CAR Magazine had never tested the Mk 10 or the 420G. It appears even Road & Track had a similar battle to hunt down a Mk 10 to test before the end of 1961. The design was based on the 3,8 Mk 2 with the new front end later fitted to the 420 (1968-1969). This styling was retained until its run-out when the better-looking and far more elegant XJ6 made its debut.
