August 2023 marks the 18th anniversary of the Bike India magazine. there could be no better way to celebrate this event than getting astride a motorcycle and explore this vast country of ours. the idea was to cover 18 states in a very exciting road trip astride the Hero Xpulse 200t 4V. While all of us know about the insane capabilities of the Xpulse 200 4V, the spotlight has been taken away by its street-friendly companion, the 200t 4V. therefore, for this ride we decided to get astride it and do the unthinkable: cross state borders on a motorcycle that is meant essentially for daily commuting.
The ride was flagged off from the India gate in New Delhi. Our first two stops were in the neighbouring states of Haryana and uttar Pradesh, not too far away.
We got an early morning start from the India gate and made our way towards gurugram (erstwhile gurgaon), approximately 30 kilometres away. the route taking us there involved wading through city traffic, so the Xpulse 200t felt at home. With its lower 177-millimetre ground clearance and 17-inch alloy wheels, it made quick work of tackling the urban jungle. What I always appreciate about the Xpulse is its goanywhere nature and this was just the first of many obstacles that we were going to face along the way.
