MG IM6

It may look like a Temu Tesla, but this new SUV has some serious stats
Last week, you may have read about the new MG IM5, a high-tech electric 'saloon' that pushes MG upmarket with its 5m scope, speed and class-leading charging capability. Rakish if derivative design cues further mark it out as not your typical modern-day MG.
It also represents some sleight of hand from MG's parent company, Chinese colossus SAIC. This is because the IM5 has already been on sale in China as the IM L6, under the banner of Intelligence in Motion. With MG in need of a more luxury offering to boost profits and better appeal to UK fleet drivers, the decision was taken to bring the L6 here and sell it under MG's auspices. In our increasingly rationalised world, this makes plenty of sense, even if MG neglected to change the car's branding, which is why you don't recognise the badge on the front, rear and steering boss.

HOW PORSCHE IS PURSUING A QUIETER LIFE FOR OWNERS
NOISE, VIBRATION AND HARSHNESS (NVH) are three of the most important words in the engineering of new cars. They describe exactly that: noise and vibration generated from hundreds of sources, from the texture and undulation of the road surface to the entire drivetrain, tyres, brakes and structure of the car itself.

Max Verstappen was the standout Formula 1 driver of 2025 for me. That's not to denigrate new world champion Lando Norris in any way. In fact, I would argue the opposite is the case. That Norris prevailed in the tense Abu Dhabi finale does him huge credit because, as he will know only too well while reflecting on his hallowed new status, he did so in the face of an astonishing fightback from one of the true greats of motor racing.
