Less is more

There is little to doubt how exciting the VW Taigun GT is to drive. But then, VW also offers a more affordable Taigun with a smaller engine. Does this variant offer as many features and the same level of excitement?

If you have been a regular reader, praises from my colleague regarding the Auto Today long-term fleet's Taigun 1.5 TSI DSG have been high, but priced close to Rs 20 lakh, it is not exactly pocket friendly and isn't an easy recommendation for those who want a well-rounded SUV at a more accessible price point. But if your needs do not encompass a powerful engine or spirited driving, then it is the smaller-engined Taigun which is quite an enticing proposition at its sub-Rs 16 lakh price tag. I took to the manual variant in its top-spec Topline guise to find out how good it is.
