Volvo's new range-extending SUV heralds return of XC70

Chinese-market plug-in hybrid will offer up to 124 miles of range on electric power alone
WE last saw the Volvo XC70 name on the back of a high-riding estate car back in 2016, but now the Swedish firm has given us a teaser of the badge's return, this time on an SUV.
The new XC70 is expected to be launched in the coming months, but initially at least it will be offered in China. A Volvo spokesperson told Auto Express that “there are no current plans to sell the XC70 in the UK market”. However, the firm says it will be “exploring potential additional markets at a later stage” and if there is demand, it'll look into bringing the new model to the UK.
