Recon to replace Wrang

REVEALED Dual-motor off-roader will have detachable doors and Jeep's 'Tra
JUST weeks after Auto Express learned the Jeep Wrangler is being forced out of Europe due to emissions regulations, the covers have come off its all-electric alternative: the Recon.
We're told it will arrive here in late 2026 and — while Jeep's first EV, the Avenger, was a small front-wheel-drive SUV designed to conquer congested city streets - the Recon is a genuine go-anywhere 4x4.
It's been purpose-built to deliver the level of off-roading capability the brand is renowned for and has even earned the same ‘Trail Rated’ certification as the legendary Wrangler.
However, the Recon is said to be equally capable on the road. Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf believes it is “a bold step forward for the brand” and is “ready to take Jeep enthusiasts into the future without compromising the legendary performance they expect”.
Underneath is the STLA Large platform, also used by the luxurious Jeep Wagoneer S. The Recon uses a 100kWh battery with steel underbody protection, offering an estimated range of 280 miles — some way short of the 403 miles the new Jeep Compass Electric can reach.
That’s partly because the Recon will feature dual motors as standard. These deliver four-wheel drive, 641bhp, 840Nm of torque, and 0-62mph in just 3.7 seconds — making it almost as fast as a BMW M5.

Wreckreation
IF you love noughties classics such as Burnout, Need for Speed and Micro Machines, then Wreckreation is the game for you. We're certainly fans of good old-fashioned driving games. Too many have become realistic simulators that require expert skills, which at times foregoes the fun of gaming.

Tesla Model Y Standard
SOME people say EV pioneer Tesla is faltering. Sales figures are declining worldwide and it appears interest in the brand is waning. The reasons for this may be many, but it can’t be down to the cars themselves — especially since the Americans have proven with the Model Y facelift that they aren't resting on their laurels.
