Porsche 718 Cayman Style Edition
September 27, 2023

FIRST DRIVE Is this special edition of entry-level sports car more style over substance?
PORSCHE'S 718 Cayman will soon be inject a bit of interest into the petrol-powered version of its entry-level two-seater, the firm has released this Style Edition. It's available with a bright colour palette in both fixed-roof Cayman form and as an open-top 718 Boxster, but it's the coupé that we're trying.
The most obvious change for our test car comes with its Ruby Star Neo paint; a very clear nod to the Ruby Star finish famously worn by the 964-generation 911 Carrera RS. Whether you're a fan of the colour or not, there can be no doubt that it will turn a lot of heads.
On this car, the visuals are made even more vibrant by the contrasting white highlight pack. This includes a stripe across the bonnet, door decals with 'Porsche' lettering, and white 718 Cayman badges. These are set off by 20-inch 718 Spyder wheels, which are also finished in white.
If you prefer a more subdued look, then the Style Edition is also available in any one of Porsche's other extensive colour options, and can be specified with black stripes and silver or black wheels at no cost.

MIKE RUTHERFORD
WELCOME to 2026, in which I'm expecting yet another major political U-turn, more public transport inefficiency and rip-offs, a renaissance in the threatened - but now seemingly safe - small-car sector, and lots of great deals from a leasing industry offering some new models for pennies per hour.
