From 1960 I helped my father on our small holding rearing old breed pigs on swill and all types of food waste of the time. In late1990 I bought my own smallholding where I reared wild boar and traditional breed pigs, feeding unsold food (not swill). Depackaging the amount of food needed to feed them proved to be a huge job to be done by hand.

So having been involved in engineering for many years, I set to and built a depackaging machine. The machine I made was a very simple unit which amazingly worked. It removed the packaging properly, produced perfectly clean feed out of its base, crumbed and ready for the farm and for clean packaging. True recycling.
