Five-year-old Leestone Emeresky goes from strength to strength, while Laura Renwick franks an incredible week in the seven-year-old final
-
PRECOCIOUS talent Leestone Emeresky continued her sparkling run of form to secure the NCS Equestrian Boutique five-year-old final, following flawless performances all week.
The mare, ridden by Lee Williams, already has an astonishing CV that includes five-year-old titles from her trip to Spain earlier this year and now 10 young horse international wins.
Lee rides the Emerald Van't Ruytershof daughter for Carrera Stud, a new partnership between the rider and Adam Deering.
"She was good last week and even better this week," said Lee, who also scooped Friday's Norton's Fencing 1.10m twophase class with the mare. "She felt much stronger and more confident this week." He added that Leestone Emeresky will now have a few weeks' rest, before picking up for the young horse championships at Hickstead, with the World Breeding Championships in Lanaken the ultimate aim this year.
"She's very easy, balanced and loves to do the job. I'm very fortunate to have her," said Lee.
Daley Fisher headed Thursday's Rufford's Country Lifestyle five-year-old class with Russell Payne's mare, Uranda J&L, after a trip to sunny Spain played a formative role in her education.
"We got her at the late end of last year. I did a one-day show, then took her to Spain for the Sunshine Tour for three weeks. She's really sweet, straightforward and has a great attitude. Spain helped her along the way," said Daley.
"She's careful, has plenty of scope and she wants to do it.
