‘WE FOUND LOVE AT THE SALVOS!'

Born into great wealth, David lost everything to addiction before faith and love turned his life around

Looking lovingly into his wife Beth’s eyes, David Twivey knows how lucky he is to be celebrating 30-plus years of wedded bliss.

The happy couple met when David went to study at the Salvation Army Bible College in 1987. He tells Woman’s Day that within 12 months he’d fallen hopelessly in love with Beth’s warm heart.

She still insists it was divine intervention. “We got engaged and married and had three great kids,” says Beth, with a laugh, admitting it was a “little weird” when she heard God tell her that David was the man she was going to marry! She was at a church service where David was speaking six months before they had even met.

“It’s been a lovely marriage and this year we’re celebrating 32 years. We’ve had some tough times in some places we’ve gone but we’ve always remained very committed to each other,” Beth says.
