Over the years, Sean Penn has been linked to a string of beautiful leading ladies – many of them more stunning and younger than the next.

In 2016, the then-56-year-old Oscar winner fell for Australian actress Leila George, who was 24.

It wasn’t long before Leila – daughter of Australian actress Greta Scacchi and American acting veteran Vincent D’Onofrio, who is one year Sean’s senior – moved into the A-lister’s Malibu mansion.

“Things moved at breakneck speed between them,” a source tells Woman’s Day.

Now, it has been revealed that the pair married in a secret ceremony, after Sean gifted her a stunning blue and gold engagement ring, which she was first seen wearing in January.

“They grew even closer together throughout this year,” reveals a source. “They’ve been on the road together for months helping with COVID relief and getting testing for less fortunate people. They’ve seen how bad things are out there and it bonded them even more.
