While the Queen has only just publicly begun preparing the public for King Charles and Queen Camilla’s reign, behind-the-scenes plans are already in full swing.

Woman’s Day understands that among the changes is a dramatic shake-up to royal real estate, from Buckingham Palace to the Sandringham Estate and Balmoral Castle.

Here, we reveal which royals will soon unpack in their new home…

BUCKINGHAM PALACE

It’s been the traditional London home and admin centre of the monarch since Queen Victoria’s accession in 1837, but even the Queen almost didn’t live there, with her husband Prince Philip preferring Clarence House, just a few blocks away.

“Tradition won him over in the end, and now we’re seeing Charles grappling with the same problem,” says a source. “Charles and Camilla have lived at Clarence House their entire marriage, and he was rather gloomy about the prospect of moving his home and his offices at his age, but he accepts it will be his rightful home as monarch once his mother passes.”
