10 Boys Later... We Finally Get Our Baby Girl!

After 17 years of trying, this super-mum’s family is now complete

When Alexis Brett discovered she was pregnant for the 11th time after giving birth to 10 boys, she never even considered she might be having a gorgeous baby girl.

“I already had 10 sons, so it seemed only right I’d be having another boy,” the 39-year-old fitness instructor tells Woman’s Day. “I never in a million years expected to have a girl… I just didn’t really think we were capable of making a girl.”

But there was a shock in store for the super-mum. “With all of my other pregnancies, we never found out the sex of them – [my husband] David and I just waited until they were born, so it would be a surprise.

“This time round, curiosity got the better of us and we had a gender scan at a private clinic,” explains Alexis, who is also the proud mother of Campbell, 17, Harrison, 16, Corey, 14, Lachlan, 11, Brodie, nine, Brahn, eight, Hunter, six, Mack, five, Blake, three and Rothagaidh, two.
