Blind jazz icon hopes to inspire other artists with disabilities
RECEIVING a lifetime achievement award is a huge honour for legendary musician Babsy Mlangeni. He shares his thoughts about his fruitful music career and his SAMA 23 Lifetime Achievement Award.
GETTING THE AWARD
Babsy says the award is like South Africa saying thank you to him for his contribution to the entertainment industry and the doors he has opened for other artists with disabilities in Mzansi.
“I’ve witnessed many artists being given this award in the past and I always wondered if I’ll ever get a chance to receive it too. Now that my time has come, I’m just happy that the good Lord has spared me long enough to receive this award.
