SHAHNAZ HUSAIN brings you the Healthy Hair Challenge whereby you can improve the quality, volume, and length of your hair by following a simple hair care routine. This is the first in a two-part series that is the Healthy Hair Challenge.

Healthy Hair Challenge

Your hair can be cascading and lustrous too if you followed a simple hair care routine religiously. Simple products from your pantry can be used to maintain your hair, and keep them beautiful and shiny.

FIRST MONTH

Day 1

Oil Application

Heat organic coconut oil and massage it onto your scalp. If you have dandruff, use warm olive oil instead. Apply on the scalp and hair shafts. Using your finger tips, stimulate the scalp by massaging it in small rotary movements. Avoid vigorous massage of the scalp and hair. Leave it on overnight.

Day 2

Hair Cleansing

Hair washing has assumed more importance nowadays due to exposure to increased grime and chemical pollutants. First, wet your hair thoroughly. Apply herbal shampoo and use your fingertips to rub it into the scalp and hair. Work up the lather. Start at the scalp and go downwards. Be gentle with your hair. While washing, run plenty of water through the hair, so that you can get rid of all the soap, along with dirt, dead skin cells, and pollutants.

After washing the hair, do not rub it with a towel. Allow the towel to soak up moisture and wrap it around the head for a few minutes.
