No In -House Caterer? No Problem . We ’Ve Found Out All You Need To Know About H Ir Ing A Catering Company To Make Your Foodie Dreams Come True.
You’ve found your perfect venue and envisioned yourself exchanging vows in front of your nearest and dearest before starting the celebrations at your wedding breakfast. There’s just one snag: the venue doesn’t have a caterer and you need to organise your own. What now?
First things first, educate yourself. “Do your research. Different caterers specialise in different things. Fine dining caterers will not provide a hog roast as well as a hog roast company and vice versa,” says Charlotte Thompson, director of The Pantry – Tuck Truck. The Edinburgh Catering Company’s event co-ordinator, Claire McPherson, agrees. “Try to get an insight into some of their previous weddings to see what they do most of,” she advises. “And ask general questions about the styles of weddings they have catered for.”
The relationship with your wedding suppliers is built on trust; you need to know they won’t let you down. “You want to be certain your wedding day is in safe hands. A good caterer will want to know everything, listen carefully and should be happy to tailor menus, timings and service to your needs,” adds Nigel Kennedy, director at Appetite Direct.
