A rooftop tent that can sleep up to four people and sets up in less than a minute… impossible? No.

The SkyCamp 4X by iKamper has arrived in South Africa, and is sure to cause a stir in this highly-competitive market segment.

When closed, the SkyCamp looks like most hardshell rooftop tents on the market, but once opened you’ll notice the clever design feature that makes it special.

The unit has an extra bit of floor, about half the width of the tent, that folds out to create additional sleeping space.

Closed, the width of the SkyCamp is 138 cm, but when opened and folded out, the matress area is increased to 210 cm.

Given the industry standard of about 50 cm width per person to determine sleeping space in tents, this means the Skycamp is a four sleeper!

Sure, four adults will be a tight squeeze, but iKamper does promote their product for “two adults and two children”; or three adults comfortably.
