Nuthin' But A 5G Thang

When I moved to Joburg after securing my gig at 5FM, I eventually ended up in the leafy suburb of Parkhurst.

Little did I know when I moved how super-advanced this piece of suburbia wanted to be. It was the first in South Africa to roll out mainstream fibre to the home (FTTH) to every house way back in 2015. The next plan is to take the suburb off-grid, both for electricity and water. I have no idea how they intend doing this, or if it’s even legal, but I assume it’s in the pipeline, so to speak.
