In the tussle between the board and the players, the sidelining of 200 staff less than a month ago has become a thorn in the flesh for Cricket Australia. Even as the Australian Cricketers Associations (ACA) is willing to come to the table, it is not willing to accept that CA has been above board when it comes to finances and is, therefore, unlikely to be as considerate despite the pandemic. Here’s why.

The latest round of talks between the Australian Cricketers Association is assumed to have ended in a much similar fashion as the last time the ACA and CA tried to close the loop around the financial implications as a fallout of the pandemic. Much like the last time and perhaps more so, the ACA has been adamant that the CA will need to show more proof before it can even suggest the idea of the players undergoing a cut in their contractual salaries.
