There’s something about Rishabh Pant. The swashbuckling wicketkeeper batsman has perhaps been the most exciting young talent to emerge from Indian cricket in these past couple of years. Ever since he made a name in the ICC U-19 World Cup 2016 for India, he has grown from strength to strength and looks certain to be the future of Indian cricket in the days to come.
In whatever little chances he has got, Pant has regularly shown his mettle. And IPL 2018 has proved to be a glorious chapter in this talented youngster’s short career. Featuring for his home franchise, Delhi Daredevils, Pant went on to amass a whopping 684 runs from 14 matches – the highest at the end of the group stage – at a stunning strike-rate of 173.60 with one hundred and five fifties. While Delhi languished at the bottom of the table, Rishabh Pant’s scintillating form was the only shining light for them this entire season.
