Kate Allan takes second National 50 title

2017 champ returns to form with fastest ever winning time

After a wait of five years, Kate Allan can proudly call herself a national champion again after clinching the 50-mile Championship honors last weekend.

The 37-year-old is back to her best while combining motherhood and training over recent years.

With her children now more independent, Allan has been able to step up her training and secured the title in North Yorkshire with a time of 1:44.55.

“When I last won the 50-mile Championships in 2017 the event had the same starting point as this year, and since then I’ve had children,” said Allan.

“They are now four and six years old so it’s getting much easier to mix training with parenting as they aren’t so reliant on me now.”
