Egan Bernal’s Paris-Nice win on Sunday topped off a week for Team Sky which seemed to point to a bright future for the British squad.

Last week sources close to the team confirmed to Cycling Weekly that a deal with British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe to sponsor Team Sky for 2020 and beyond is set to be announced very soon. Ratcliffe, who already backs a British sailing team, will have his chemical company, Ineos, as title sponsor.
