5 Tips to Breeze Through Lent in Style

When you hear the word Lent, the first thing that you usually think of is sacrifice. During biblical times, those who fasted neglected their appearance to call attention to their good deeds. So Jesus said in Matthew 6:18 that these sacrifices have to be made in secret and not announced to the world—“so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

Taking Jesus’ words to heart, here are some practical tips to stay beautiful throughout this season.
1 HYDRATE
Fasting can take its toll on your body, especially if you’re not used to it. Stay alert and curb your hunger by drinking lots of water. It’s a great way to detox your body and does wonders for your skin. Daily intake must be half your body weight in ounces. For example, a person who is 140 pounds should drink seventy ounces of water (2,070 milliliters).
