MY JOURNEY IN COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY
April 2021
|Lens Magazine
Life is a journey filled with lessons, hardships, joys, celebrations, and memorable moments that will ultimately lead us to our destination, our purpose in life.

The road will not always be smooth; Some of these challenges and excitement will test our courage, strengths, weaknesses, but makes our life exciting and fulfilling.
When I was planning to commence my photography journey, commercial photography never crossed my mind. I wanted to focus solely on documentary, travel, street, and doing an exhibition.
There were a couple of reasons why I was not planning to do this. I know that I was only able to do street photography. In the beginning, I was doing documentary and travel photography and contributing articles to magazines and photography exhibitions.
Managing lighting equipment was another world for me. One fine day, I bought my first strobe light and practiced with it often. Gradually, I received requests for corporate and portrait photoshoots. My experience grew; I acquired new skills and purchased more gear.
I like to challenge myself and face challenges. Eventually, I started embarking on big projects. It has been a self-journey, and I have improved tremendously by rigorously practicing while working. I had to manage multi-tasks such as client liaison, crew members, and the expected deliverables from the client - every single process was interesting for me.
