Being a mother is anything but glamourous, something which Chrissy Teigen is happy to be honest about.

'Being A Mother Is Anything But Glamourous'

Childbirth is a miraculous process; it is nothing short of exhausting and leaves its mark on a woman’s body. It is not the well-put-together look that Kate Middleton wore while facing the press mere hours after giving birth to her third child. Contrary to the flawless picture Hollywood paints of new moms, most would know intimately the scars and folds that pregnancy leaves behind.

We know there’s a secret behind it — a full makeup kit, plenty of mesh and padding, and an army of personal trainers and dieticians to whip that post-baby body back in shape. Even so, it is hard for moms not to compare themselves against this unrealistic standard that the glamourous pictures of Hollywood portray.

Thankfully, there are moms out there who use their voice to show the truth of imperfection and speak out against unrealistic expectation. Chrissy Teigen is one such Hollywood mom. Raised by a Thai mother and a Norwegian-American father, the outspoken supermodel and cookbook author has been open about her journey of motherhood, and shows us that even celebrity moms go through the same post-pregnancy pains that the everyday mom does.

Scrolling through her Instagram, you’ll see a video which shows her stretch marks while she flaunts a bikini in Bali. “I guess these just aren’t gonna go away. This is my body,” she said matter-of-factly in the video. While the 33-yearold admitted that she’s not exactly confident of her body, she wants to help other moms out there feel better about themselves. Score one for realistic reflections of motherhood.

The candid mom also shared a picture of her in mesh undergarments—the kind that moms wear post-delivery to hold a large sanitary napkin in place. Many moms applauded this picture for showing a realistic but lesser talked about aspect of childbirth.
