Larkins windfall returns village to green, green grass of home

IN AN act befitting Pop Larkin’s generosity, the idyllic Kent village of Eynsford, where TV series The Larkins is filmed, is having its once “perfick” green re-turfed, thanks to proceeds from the show.

Eynsford is just one recipient from a fund of £1.3million given to villages, towns, and pubs throughout Kent that have been used in The Larkins production.

The remake, starring Bradley Walsh as Pop and Sabrina Bartlett as Mariette, began last Sunday on ITV, drawing more than five million viewers to HE Bates’s whimsical tale of country life.

Eynsford features again tonight in the second episode as the scene of a pram race.

Parish clerk Holly Ivaldi said the village hall had also benefited.
