Rawat brings Delhi back in the game heading into the final day with a fighting ton against Gujarat

Playing a gritty knock of 133 when Delhi desperately needed a big score from their top order to remain in the match, young wicket-keeper batsman Anuj Rawat displayed why he is the right guy to fill the big shoes of Rishabh Pant, who is not returning anytime soon to the Ranji setup.

The 20-year-old southpaw, whose batting position is often shuffled based on the availability of other players in the team, showed his versatility as an opener against Gujarat on Day Three of their penultimate group A game at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Thursday.

The fighting knock helped Delhi post 228/4 runs at the end of day’s play, allowing the home side to take a 187-run lead in the second innings.
