I tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, in contact tracing after a colleague caught the infection. The report generated panic and fear because I was largely asymptomatic.
After a phone discussion with Chief Medical Office, Noida, an ambulance was at my door and dropped me to the Super Speciality Paediatric Hospital and Post Graduate Teaching Institute (SSPH PGTI), Noida.
I was informed that as per UP guidelines, irrespective of symptoms, “All positive cases have to be admitted. Home isolation is not an option”.
Isolation ward-26 was clean and basic. A table fan was provided as Central Air Conditioning was shut off. The room had no TV set.
