Euro500m for care staff Cash to boost recruitment, training and wellbeing

PEOPLE working in adult social care in England will benefit from at least £500million from the Health and Social Care Levy, the Government has announced.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak's levy initially funded by a 1.25 per cent increase in national insurance that comes into force tomorrow - is set to raise £36 billion for the Treasury over the next three years to be invested in the battered health and social care system. Half a billion pounds from £5.4billion earmarked for adult social care will fund a package of support for the workforce.

Whitehall officials say the funding will draw new staff to the sector and support those already in it by providing significant investment in individual learning and development, plus mental health and wellbeing.
