Depp threw 30 bottles like grenades at me, says Heard

ACTOR Johnny Depp launched “30 glass bottles like grenades” at his actress wife Amber Heard during one of their rows, she told the High Court yesterday.

She also said he had forced her to take the rap for illegally smuggling their two pet dogs into Australia in April 2015.

And she claimed that after their marriage ended in 2016, she was subjected to a four-year “campaign of abuse”, which stunted her career and charity work.

Giving evidence for the third day as the star witness for The Sun newspaper – whose publisher Mr Depp is suing for libel over an article that called him a “wife beater” – Ms Heard said the bottle incident happened in March 2015, during an earlier trip to Australia.

She claimed he had been bingeing on drugs and whiskey when she confronted him in an attempt to “save his life”. He offered her the bottle as “a tease” then tried to pull it away before she grabbed it and smashed it on the floor.

She said: “I regretted that. I was so upset but I think it snapped something in him. He reached for the bottles on the counter and was picking them up and throwing them like grenades, like bombs.
