Evans revving up for return home

YOU have to go back to pre-lockdown for the last time Wales prop Rob Evans packed down in a competitive match at Parc y Scarlets, but he’ll be back today off the bench against Edinburgh.

Evans is back in action after undergoing neck surgery this summer. Today will be his second competitive step back to full match fitness after a cameo against Treviso and Scarlets head coach Glenn Delaney is glad to have him.

“We’re really pleased with the way he is going and I’m proud of the work he is putting in,” Delaney told The Rugby Paper.

That work is not restricted to his own recovery. The 39-cap international has been passing on his experience to the next generation.

“Rob has been fabulous with our younger props,” said Delaney. “We had a live scrummaging session this week and he was up against young Harri O’Connor, who is only 18.

“He has been helping him as well as competing against him. At the end of the session he was telling him how it felt and what his shoulder profile was like.
