Dan Holds Nerve To Keep Scarlets Afloat

SCARLETS coach Wayne Pivac praised the temperament of outside-half Dan Jones who slotted over a last gasp penalty to secure a draw with Leinster in Llanelli.

The draw ensures Leinster stay top of Conference B in the PRO14 with the Scarlets three points behind in second place.

“He was a little bit down about his performance in the changing room but we had faith in him as we did in Dublin a few weeks ago when he did the same for us in the last play,” said Pivac.

“I’m pleased for him that he knocked that over and he showed a lot of character to do that. I sent a message on to take the shot and to keep our unbeaten run at home which keeps us within three points which is important.

“In the big picture we want to be in a home playoff and this result keeps that option alive.”
