Clubs across the league’s three divisions have thrown their hat into the ring for next month’s end-of-season competition despite the heavy financial outlay needed for players’ wages and testing.

The National League North Blues had hoped to make a decision over the past week but a setback over testing costs has caused a delay.

Twenty-five tests will be required by clubs at three stages before the play-offs commence to meet the protocols in place.

Over the last few weeks, the Blues have been adamant that they will only take part if they can afford the hefty price tag, which could be as high as £60£70,000.
