Joshua Hedley is only 33, but he’s been in the country-music business for more than two decades. He got his first fiddle at the age of eight, was jamming at 10 and, two years later, was playing alongside experienced country artists. By 19, his covers band was a regular fixture at Nashville’s Robert’s Western World.

It didn’t leave much time for a regular childhood, but it was the perfect background for a man who’s grown from wanting to emulate his fiddle hero, Bob “King of Western Swing” Wills, to become the archetype of a classic C&W music star.
